Note to self: Research, get frustrated, swear, freak out and then do the smart thing and hire someone with graphic design back ground to make me a water mark image to put on my work.
We were supposed to go out and get for generation pictures my mother my grandmother myself and my newborn daughter. Grandma was in a hover around and had oxygen cord but it was portable however the winter and Iowa was not as cooperative. Let's do it this spring.... The grandma passed away in April we never got a chance to have a professional portrait of the strongest women I know. I will always regret that but I have to live with the crappy snapshot somebody took one afternoon in the kitchen.
It happens all the time, you think "we need updated family pictures". For many, the simple act of choosing a date becomes the impossible mission. People have busy lives and schedules, and nobody but mom seems excited. Then comes the daunting task of outfit coordination. And lastly, mom gives up and promises herself that she will set up an appointment next summer.
That stress we put on ourselves in is silly! But we all want that perfect picture and I understand. However, if you continue waiting for the perfect moment, then another five years pass and you keep re-promising yourself and keep putting it off. My advice is to pick two dates. Outfits can be random and not color coordinated. Ifsomeone works that day then we can work around that schedule. Just set up the appointment and things seem to work themselves out. You never end up looking back and regretting the photos, but you will always regret not having the three generation photo once your loved one passes. Photos arent perfect, they are materialized memories. Make happy moments 📸 |
